During my fellowship, I assisted with the development of "Legal Navigator," a statewide legal portal machine learning system. The main objective was to create an online AI tool used to provide legal information to the public while also making a plan to fit their legal issue. My job dealt with divorce forms with the goal creating a single interview for a first and second set of divorce papers for the entire state rather than having all of the forms separate. Currently, Hawaii has four different circuits. While almost all the circuits require the same forms to be filled in, it differs in the title of the forms, the way the questions are asked, the answers they want provided. During my time, I created a word-by-word table of how the forms differ, a sample of what the future combined divorce form should look like, and variables for the divorce form to start working on the interview part of the online tool.
