My fellowship project supported the Michigan Legal Help Program (MLHP), an interactive, statewide website that provides legal information and referrals to self-represented litigants. This involved reviewing and updating substantive information and testing internal and external resource links to ensure the website's proper functionality. One of the key areas I focused on was testing the Do-It-Yourself document assembly forms interviews, which are virtual guided interviews that ask a series of questions to collect the necessary information needed to fill in court forms. My team went through all the possible user pathways to ensure proper functionality, checking for typos and errors in the questions and making sure the program populated correct documents according to the answers provided.
