My fellowship project assisted with the creation of a guide and file for The Financial Statement Short Form, which is required in many civil family law case types, and specifically mandated at all Divorce, Modification and Custody proceedings. The creation of this guide would empower court users to complete financial statements during their own time, providing page-level links to helpful information, and would allow the court users to familiarize themselves with the form prior to appearing in court. With this guide and file yielding more time to assist more self-represented litigants in more case types, we could expand access to justice and serve to address racial, socioeconomic, and language access, so that we may equitably administer justice with dignity and speed. ‍
