During my time at Pine Tree Legal Assistance as an Access to Tech Justice Fellow, I played an instrumental role in designing and launching the Stateside Legal website, a crucial platform catering to veterans across the nation in need of legal guidance. Beyond the realm of digital creation, my days were immersed in user testing sessions and intricate back-end work, ensuring a seamless and beneficial experience for all users. My determination wasn't just rooted in technological advancements; it was fueled by interactions with fellow attorneys and identifying potential intersections where technology could most assist our clientele. My zeal to dive deep into the intricacies of law led me to shadow a family law attorney in tribal court. Here, I showcased my adaptive legal acumen by drafting a brief to extend a protection from abuse order, drawing inspiration from Maine Law but tailored specifically to tribal contexts. Though the resolution wasn't instantaneous, the positive feedback from the judge was a nod to the potential of such intersections of state and tribal laws.
