My fellowship project goal was to promote opportunities to resolve legal barriers and access to legal resources needed for the vulnerable, low-income population in Kansas. I engaged with low-income clients in Kansas who needed help resolving various legal barriers, such as addressing the hardships caused by suspended drivers licenses through direct assistance and developing useful resources on the website for self-represented litigants. I also supported any work related to upgrading the KLS website, which was going to be serving as a beta site for testing the new Drupal 9 platform. The Drupal upgrade was proposed to make the KLS and 12 - 15 other DLAW websites more accessible, efficient and valuable for users all over the country who need legal aid more urgently now than ever before.
