During my fellowship, I was a part of the team responsible for implementing the “Justice For All” (JFA) statewide action plan. The goal of the JFA plan was to create a continuum of linked, meaningful and appropriate services to expand access to justice for all Alaskans. I assisted with developing training curricula and “legal checkup” tools for non-legal services providers on the availability and scope of legal services and information and deploying the tool. I also automated a series of court forms for debt collection cases and evaluated the efficacy of several debt collection interventions, using a network approach. Finally, I worked with legal and non-legal providers to better understand the various resources available to help their collective clients, patients and customers to identify opportunities to solve solutions together.
