My fellowship project supported the Michigan Legal Help Program (MLHP), an interactive, statewide website that provides legal information and referrals to self-represented litigants. This involved reviewing and updating substantive information and testing internal and external resource links to ensure the website's proper functionality, making it easier for people to find the information and resources they need. My project also included working with actual end-users through LiveHelp chat sessions, an instant messaging tool that helps visitors navigate to the information they are looking for. By engaging in user testing for the MLHP website, I was able to improve the website's accessibility and usability for self-represented litigants in Michigan. This work helped make legal information and resources more accessible to those who need them, promoting greater access to justice for all.
